Introduction to Marxism

The following texts have been selected to provide an introduction to those new to Marxist theory and those wanted to get to grips with some of the basics; Alex Callinicos’ Revolutionary Ideas of Karl Marx lies out the life and contributions of Karl Marx, while his theories and ideas are translated into a framework for action in John Molyneux’s The Point is to Change it.

The actuality of socialist revolution is developed in Rosa Luxemburg’s Reform or Revolution and Vladimir Lenin’s State and Revolution, and the present day role of a revolutionary party is further developed in Party and Class’ essays and Lewis Nielsen and Sophia Beach’s Why You Should Be a Socialist.
