Redwords
Redwords published its first book in 1990: Shelley’s Revolutionary Year – a collection of Shelley’s revolutionary writings, which were themselves his response to the ideas of the French Revolution of 1789 and the Peterloo massacre of 1819 in Manchester, England. Redwords central theme is the cultural and imaginative response to struggle, whether in poetry, literature, music, biography, or the many branches of art and history writing. The struggle for socialism must – by definition – depend on the many not the few. This struggle should be in unity with theory, art and knowledge. Welcome to Redwords: the socialist publishing cooperative.
