Angosto-Ferrandez is Lecturer in Anthropology and Latin American Studies at the University of Sydney. Previously he worked at the Bolivarian University of Venezuela (Ciudad Bolivar). His research interests are underlined by a concern with the study and applicability of political agency (collective and individual). Beyond scholarly enquiry his work envisages ways of strengthening civic forms of cohabitation and democratic organization in the contemporary polis. Among recent academic publications are two edited volumes: Democracy, revolution and geopolitics in Latin America: Venezuela and the international politics of discontent (forthcoming, November 2013, Palgrave) and Everlasting Countdowns: Race, Ethnicity and National Censuses in Latin American States (co-edited with Sabine Kradolfer, 2012). He is also a contributor to Aporrea.org and Rebelion.org.
